Oh well, no panic (i think i`m talking to myself though, everyone is calm), in the support forum it says this:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now i get it, the "news" annoying thing is because ppl can`t see the last post, so they put it so ppl can know what new threads were created....

No, I didnt put the news thing in (as you correctly concluded) but ill see what I can do to get it off. Give me till tomorrow afternoon- Ill take a look at it when I wake up.
It is rather annoying.

**Edit** I dont know if I can take it off or not, but I have edited it so that its at least less noticable. I will work on it more tomorrow.

Its under the forum settings in the admin panel- about 3/4 of the way down it says something like NEWS and then it has the choice of a type in phrase or the recent topics.
